Today the AFL announced that three of this year’s women’s exhibition matches are to be broadcast live nationally on FOX SPORTS. All three matches will also be streamed live via afl.com.au. As reported in February, Crocmedia will supply live radio coverage of all matches in the 2016 exhibition series, which will also be streamed via afl.com.au.

In a statement, AFL General Manager Clubs and AFL Operations Travis Auld said:
“I thank FOX SPORTS for their outstanding support of the women’s exhibition matches in 2016. To secure three matches on national broadcast is a significant first for our code,” he said.
“The broadcasts will ensure the widest possible audience will see the best female talent across the country as we prepare for the inaugural national women’s competition in 2017.
“Following the success of the first ever national broadcast of a women’s AFL match last year, I’m sure footy fans will be keen to see this exciting development of our game.”
Broadcast details, including channel platform and programming times, will be finalised in the lead-up to each game.
FOX SPORTS CEO Patrick Delany said: “These exhibition matches are a fantastic addition to our all-encompassing coverage, adding to AFL fans’ insatiable appetite for footy.”
