NAB signs on as AFL Women's sponsor
NAB has been announced as the inaugural naming-rights sponsor of the AFL Women’s League. As reported in the Herald-Sun, the agreement is said to be a three-year deal – with an option for a further three years – and in the vicinity of $2-3 million a year.
With club lists being finalised at tomorrow’s historic draft, the naming-rights sponsor is another large piece of the AFL Women’s League puzzle. The sponsorship of the competition extends NAB’s 14-year partnership with the AFL. NAB is the naming-rights partner of NAB AFL Auskick, NAB AFL Women’s League, NAB AFL Women’s Rising Star, the NAB AFL Rising Star Program and the NAB AFL Trade Period. The first ever NAB AFL Women’s Draft is to be hosted at NAB’s head office in Melbourne on Wednesday and will be live-streamed via afl.com.au
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said in a statement “the inaugural national women’s league announcements have captivated the sporting public this year. Women and girls now have a clear pathway to play the game from NAB AFL Auskick to the NAB AFL Women’s League.”
“NAB has been and continues to be, a great sponsor of the AFL and the game’s grassroots. NAB shares our passion to grow the game at all levels and I look forward to the exciting years ahead.”
