The World Championships have come around again and we have a fresh faced team with only six Olympians returning post-Rio which leaves us with seven debutants preparing for their first major senior tournament. I am personally really excited as it will be my first major tournament as Stingers captain.

First stop is Budapest; some "friendly" international games versus Hungary will be played. Hungary are renowned as one of the best countries in the world... It no doubt will be intense!
This will allow us to finalise our tactics and systems before we head to the main stage where we will face six games across 12 days of hard-fought competition between 16 counties around the world. Our round games consist of Kazakhstan, Russia and Greece.
Whilst a medal at this major tournament would be exceptional, we are utilising this tournament to give our youngest members of the team some experience moving forward toward Tokyo 2020.
You can follow myself and the team's progress via my social media handles @RowieWebster or on the Australia Water Polo website.
